Dr. Fallah Gets International Recognition In Formation Of Global Network

Former NPHIL Boss, Dr. Mosoka Fallah

The former Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) has received more international recognitions, as he has been included in the formation of the Global Alliance for Communities (GAC).

The GAC is a coalition of grassroots leaders from around the world that will act as a vehicle to drive greater visibility and participation by community-based, proximate leaders in the global development agenda.

As part of its duty, the GAC will provide immediate support for marginalized communities battling COVID-19. It will also ensure equitable and urgent access to vaccines, all investment in locally-led projects that offer the most viable and sustainable solutions to rebuild communities and economies, in the wake of COVID-19.

According to an email, the Liberian health expert will join Kennedy Odede of the World Communities Forum, Jamie Drummond of ONE Campaign, Dr. Muhammad Musa of BRAC, and others in the formation of the GAC.

“I am thrilled to invite you to join as a founding member, alongside myself, Jamie Drummond of ONE Campaign, Dr. Muhammad Musa of BRAC, and others. We follow your work closely and know your input will be invaluable as we build out the Global Alliance. Our hope is that the Global Alliance for Communities will be a platform for iconic policy asks representing what local leaders of color from around the world need to get us through the COVID-19 pandemic and back on track for the 2030 SDGs,” read the email from Odede to Dr. Fallah.

“We will publicly announce the launch of the Global Alliance for Communities at the World Communities Forum in late March, on a global virtual stage and amplified by international press and social media,” the communication furthered.

As part of the opportunity, the former NPHIL boss is asked to also nominate other grassroots leaders to join the GAC.

“We may call on you to submit your ideas for the global virtual stage at the World Communities Forum, to share your community’s untold stories,” the communication, among other things, added.
