Editorial: Commending Sen. Joseph’s Contribution To The Health Sector

THE HEALTH SECTOR, along with other sectors like education and infrastructure, ranks as one of the greatest challenges faced by the George Weah administration. To add insult to injury, the COVID-19 viral disease doubled the challenges of the health sector, including the need for professional doctors, nurses, drugs and medical equipment. International assistance is one of the major reasons the COVID-19 viral pandemic did not cause the entire sector to collapse.

IT IS THEREFORE commendable that the Senator of Montserrado County, Saah H. Joseph, spent nearly two months in the United States, not pursuing personal ambition but seeking the welfare of his constituents. Senator Joseph visited several institutions and key members of the United States Congress to push the case of his county. The outcome of his initiative is a boost for the health welfare of Montserrado County and the nation.

THIRTY PROFESSIONAL DOCTORS from the United States of America on Friday, October 29, 2021 arrived in the country due to Senator Joseph engaging American leaders and impressing on them the urgent need to assist the nation in meeting the health needs of the Liberian people. He pleaded with them that American doctors come and help the residents of his county with improved healthcare. The American doctors arrived at the Roberts International Airport on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 5:40 p.m. on Air France.

SENATOR JOSEPH HAS disclosed that the doctors will provide free medical treatment to residents of Montserrado County, and that the exercise is a part of the Montserrado County health team’s delivery of free healthcare to the people of the county, his commitment to helping underprivileged Liberians who are unable to get access to medication.
