The Golden Usher Department of the First Assembly of God Church on Sunday, February 23, 2025 celebrated its Golden Usher Founder’s Day.
According to the President of the Golden Usher Department of the First Assembly of God Church, Samuel T. Kun, there is need to empower women economically in the church.
President Kun stated that the empowerment of women economically through business skill training will go a long way in strengthening women in the church financially.
President Kun made the statement when the Golden Usher Founder Day and Annual Thanksgiving were celebrated at the church edifice on Buchanan Street.
He noted that there are women in the church who are not strong financially, but that training them in business skills will help to manage their businesses properly.
He pointed out that the Usher Department will embark on major clean-up campaigns of the church every first Saturday of the month as well as engage into fast and prayer every first Sunday of the month. President Kun revealed that the women empowerment program of the church was expected to be launched by the Vice President of Liberia, Jeremiah Koung, but he was not in the country during the launching.
Meanwhile, the Deaconess of the First Assembly of God Church, Monica A. Sackie, has urged ushers to be diligent in the work of God while ushering people into the house of God.
Deaconess Sackie stated that they should diligently guide their hearts against negative thoughts to avoid making mistakes against God his people.
She underscored that ushers play significant role in the house of God to attract people to the church, rather than making them to leave the churches.
She asserted that when they guide their diligence, which reflects the issues of life, they will make positive decisions concerning matters confronting their living.
