Montserrado County’s district #10 Representative, Yekeh Kolubah, has called on the opposition for a united front to ensure that incumbent President George Weah becomes a one-term President.
Speaking on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the program marking the selection of Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai’s running mate, Representative Kolubah said the opposition must unite as one in order to unseat President Weah.
He said, “If the opposition cannot unite to solve their problems now, it will be impossible to unseat President Weah come October’s elections.
“We must hold together. It can’t be on one ticket but there must be understanding that anybody who goes to second round will get our support. If we don’t do that, we will not be able to reconcile ourselves. If we cannot solve our problems before the elections we will not be able to defeat President Weah,” said representative Kolubah.
The district #10 lawmaker observed that the decision made by the UP Standard Bearer has the propensity to unseat the CDC or break the Unity Party, emphasizing that their ability to solve the problem will determine opposition victory come October.
Representative Kolubah further urged former VP Boakai to use his leadership ability to bring those who feel dissatisfied together to ensure the success of the opposition.
“Mr. President-in-waiting, the journey has just started, and the journey is to reconcile with those people who have been with you for four to five years. We need everybody’s vote. Don’t let no one tell you say we don’t need the people’s vote. When we get everybody’s votes, we will win,” Representative Kolubah underscored.
