Criminal Court “A” Judge, Roosevelt Willie, has denied the motion for change of venue filed by government’s lawyers in the case involving former Chief Justice Gloria Musu Scott and other family members.
State prosecutors filed a motion for change of venue on Friday, August 25, three days to the start of the case, on ground that there have been huge media publications, which they claimed influenced public opinion.
But Judge Willie ruled denying the motion filed by prosecution on ground that the motion for change of venue is a right that is to be enjoyed by the defendants.
Meanwhile, the trial commences with the selection of a trial jury.
