The Indian Business Chamber (IBC), through its founding President, Upjit Singh Sachdeva, commonly known as “Jeety”, has fulfilled its promise to the inmates of the Monrovia Central Prison, Providing 200 bags of rice, beans, several gallons of oil and other needed items for them.
Speaking at the donation ceremony, Jeety said the donation comes days after Justice Minister, Frank Musah Dean, told lawmakers that inmates were eating “dry rice”.
Jeety said the food items donated are 200 bags of rice, 50 bags of beans, 15 Jerry cans of red palm oil, 10 bags of salt, 10 cartons of Vita cubes and a bucket of chlorine.
According to him, the gesture is to buttress government’s effort in catering to its citizens who are in detention.
At the same time, Justice Minister Musa Dean said Jeety is a reliable partner to the government. According to him, some items from the donation will be given to Margibi County prison.
He called on other business partners to follow the good example of Jeety by contributing, too.
