Thousands of Liberian beneficiaries in Bong, Bomi, and Grand Cape Mount counties will shortly benefit from the free construction of modern hand pumps and seed rice distribution, through the Liberian-American charity organization, Gospel Train International Inc. (GTI), as a result of financial donations from the American businessman, Jungle Jims, his sons and family based in Ohio, the United States of America.
According to a dispatch from the United States, quoting the Chief Executive Officer of GTI, Rev. Oliver Adams, the financial support was channeled to GTI through the organization’s Financial Managers, Mr. and Mrs. George. Reverend Adams said, with such donation, Gospel Train is now working out final modalities to extend its operation to Bong, Bomi and Grand Cape Mount counties shortly. Gospel Train International has already constructed and dedicated, free of charge, nearly a dozen hand pumps and distributed seed rice in Margibi, Grand Bassa, and Lofa counties.
During the dedication of several of the modern hand pumps and seed rice distribution, the Liberians in poor villages and towns, through Town Chief, Joe Kortima, Margibi County, expressed joy and happiness for the construction and dedication of the ten modern drill machine hand pumps and wells, as well as for the seed rice distribution and irrigation systems, given free of charge, to them.
Town Chief Kortima said the modern hand pumps, wells and seed rice distribution will greatly reduce the untold living conditions in Margibi, Bassa, and Lofa. Liberians then asked the GTI Focal Person in Liberia, veteran Liberian Broadcast Journalist Prince Dunbar, to convey on their behalf to the Americans, Jungle Jims and Mr. and Mrs. George, to extend the project to other counties, mainly in southeastern Liberia, where there are thousands of other less fortunate and destitute Liberians, including women and children.
Receiving the request from the Liberians on Monday, August ,16 2021, Dunbar promised to convey their request for more assistance to Liberians. At the same time he praised and thanked businessman Jungle Jims and family and Mr. and Mrs. George for all their financial support, which is a further manifestation of the free humanitarian work of GTI in their effort to assist thousands of less fortunate Liberians throughout the country.
Journalist Dunbar was quick to point out that the gesture of Gospel Train International and partners, including the American Jungle Jims and family as well as Mr. and Mrs. George, has no political undertone but sorely intended to support the Government of Liberia (GOL), under its pro-poor agenda to help transform the lives of very needed Liberians who are unable to provide for themselves. The GTI Focal Person assured the Americans that support to the organization will always be used for the intended purpose: to lift Liberians out of poverty unto prosperity.
