Liberia Observes World Population Day

–VP Koung Applauds UNFPA, Others For Technical Support To Gov’t

Liberia on Thursday, July 11, 2024 joined countries around the world in observance of World Population Day. The Government of Liberia (GOL), in partnership with the United Nations Agencies in Liberia, conducted the World Population Day ceremony at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in oldest Congo Town.

   Delivering the keynote speech at the occasion, Vice President of Liberia, Jeremiah Kpan Koung, applauded UNFPA and other UN agencies accredited to Monrovia for their support to the government, especially during the conduct of the past census.

   VP Koung said the Unity Party government’s ARREST agenda will use evidence-based research data to address the social economic challenges faced by citizens. He emphasized that the government remains committed to ensuring that the rights of women and children are protected under the law.
