The Acting Commissioner General of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), Elijah F. Rufus, has called for collective effort in handling the affairs of the LIS. The LIS Acting boss said he wants all hands on deck in the forward march of the institution.
The Acting LIS Commissioner General said that all appointees of the LIS are servants of officers at the institution, and that they (Commissioner Generals) are there to work in the interest of officers and Liberia at large.
The Acting LIS Commissioner General’s statement was made during his first senior staff meeting held at the headquarters of the LIS on November 19, 2024 in Monrovia. He disclosed that his leadership is open to criticism and ideas from officers of the LIS in running the institution’s affairs.
According to him, the leadership of the LIS is accepting impactful accommodations from officers of the LIS, beginning from middle level to high ranking officers.
“Forget about the blame games and let’s move forward for the betterment of the institution and the country as a whole,” he told senior officers at the meeting.
During the senior staff meeting, both the Deputy Commissioner General for Operation and Naturalization applauded their colleague for his new preferment to the position of Acting Commissioner General of the LIS. They expressed their preparedness to move the institution forward.
The LIS senior staff meeting was designed for briefing on the institution’s normal activities across the country. Since the preferment of Rufus as Acting Commissioner General of the LIS, officers of the institution are excited, and the senior staff meeting ended with smiles on the faces of senior officers of the LIS.
