The Commissioner General of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), Robert W. Budy, has reaffirmed his institution’s commitment to providing protection at all boarder points across the country.
The LIS Commissioner General informed the public that his institution is directly under the Ministry of Justice, and charged with the responsibility of protecting all boarder points in the country.
According to him, his institution can also participate in joint security operation.
Commissioner Budy made the statement recently at the Center for the Exchange of Intellectual Opinion (CEIO) in Central Monrovia.
The LIS Commissioner General explained that for some time now his institution has been working with other security institutions in making sure that the security of the country is protected to the letter.
According to him, the LIS is also responsible for the Alian and Naturalization Law of the country.
He explained that the Liberia Immigration Service can also help in generating revenue for the government.
Commissioner General Budy disclosed that presently they have men assigned at various boarder points providing security for the Liberian people.
The LIS boss stated that, since he took over the institution, lots of tangible transformations have taken place, in collaboration with partners. According to the LIS boss, they are in charge of land, air and sea.
The LIS Commissioner General emphasized that his institution remains committed to providing protection at all the boarder points in the country.
He stated that, since he took over the leadership of the LIS, President George Manneh Weah has been very supportive of the smooth operation of the institution.
LIS Commissioner General Budy informed the public that under his leadership they have been able to train men who are exhibiting professionalism at their assigned areas.
