The government, through the Liberia National Fire and Rescue Service (LNFRS), over the weekend certificated Orange Liberia for being in compliance with fire safety rules in all of its facilities, providing and maintaining a safe working environment at international standard.
The certification comes as a result of risk assessment carried out by professionals from the fire department, in line with the Liberian content document, which emphasizes a domain of exercise on physical security and fire.
Speaking during the ceremony at the headquarters of Orange Liberia, the Director of the Liberia National Fire and Rescue Service, Col. Alex K. Dickson, said the objectives of the exercise includes the verification of relevance of a crisis management plan and procedures, checking the actual operation of associated recovery solutions of fire-fighting equipment, plan, alert and resources.
Col. Dickson mentioned that the exercise is also to check the readiness of staffs in different crisis cells, awareness of the rules and procedures, amongst others.
He used the occasion to encourage employees of Orange Liberia to follow all the safety rules in case of physical fire outbreak, both at home and at the workplace.
He urged other companies, including GSM companies, to emulate the good example of Orange Liberia in having a safe working environment.
The management of Orange Liberia thanked the Liberia National Fire and Rescue Service for the physical exercise, which makes the company the first to undergo such a drill.
