LUTEB Penetrates CDC Strongholds In The Southeast; Vows To Unseat Weah In October

Pro-opposition movement, Liberia United to Elect Boakai, (LUTEB), says it has taken recruitment activities deep into the stronghold of the Governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) in the southeast of the country.

The movement says it has succeeded in recruiting people in Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Maryland, Grand kru, and other places considered CDC stronghold to help fight against the re-election of President George Weah.

LUTEB said close to two thousand people, most of them former CDCians, have all agreed to stand by the movement to achieve its goal of changing the political dynamics in the country.

The organization’s National Chairman, Jekeh Komyan, said the new recruits will help mobilize other residents to support the election of Unity Party Standard Bearer, Joseph Nyuma Boakai, and his running mate Senator Jeremiah Koung in October 2023.

Komyan disclosed further that his movement is working in collaboration with silent voters opposed to President Weah for allegedly showing no interest in their plight.

He underscored that most people are beginning to realize that their government has failed them, and are therefore yarning for a leader that will build the country and take them out of poverty.

Speaking to the Hot Pepper following a tour of the southeast recently, LUTEB Chairman said residents of the region are convinced that Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai is the only presidential aspirant with the political will to build the country and resurrect the people out of poverty.

Komyan, who visited Zwedru, Harper and Fish town in his week-long tour, indicated that CDC is losing ground in most part of the region as residents are beginning to withdraw their support due to government’s failure to address their plight.

The National Chairman of LUTEB hailed the leadership of the local chapters of the movement for the progress made in winning over the people in the southeast.

He emphasized that LUTEB, which has over 100,000 followers on social media, is determined to make its presence felt in every county before the presidential race on October 10.

Meanwhile the movement says it welcomes the selection of Nimba County Senator, Jeremiah Koung, as a running mate to Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

LUTEB Described the vice standard bearer as a young and progressive leader who is willing to help the Unity Party standard bearer rescue the country from irresponsible and inexperience leaders.

LUTEB Boss, Jekeh Komyan, expressed the hope that those opposed to the selection of Senator Koung would see reason to join what he called “victory train”.
