Since the Government of Liberia (GOL) removed Duwana Karama from his post as Managing Director of the Liberia Water and Sewer Cooperation (LWSC) for corruption, the leadership of the Acting Managing Director, Moseray Momoh, and his disputes have begun to put smiles on the faces of employees at LWSC, with fifty percent of their long awaited salaries being paid, along with other benefits.
Speaking with the Acting Managing Director exclusively at the LWSC headquarters in Monrovia, Momoh informed the Hot Pepper that his primary focus is to ensure productivity in the human development and human management aspect of the corporation which, according to him, is key now in his leadership. He said he believes in the participatory approach as a team leader.
The Acting Managing Director further reiterated that human development is his priority because with that the workforce can produce the needed results, in accordance with the corporation mandate from the Government of Liberia (GOL). He noted that if all of the salaries are given to employees of the corporation they will produce the needed results.
Momoh stated with the already fifty percent salaries given the remaining fifty percent will be given in two weeks time.
He said, when this has been completed the corporation will be prepare to support the revenue coffers of Liberia.
He said plans are underway by his leadership to generate US$3,000—US$5,000 monthly at the LWSC for the revenue coffers.
He also spoke about other benefits for staff at the corporation, stating that they are working on a plan to make employees of the corporation benefit from loan and insurance. According to him, employees at the LWSC previously were not entitled to loan and insurance benefits, which he indicated were probably some of the issues behind the consent protests of the staff of the corporation.
