On Sunday, August 5, 2024 the Director of Press and Public Affairs at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) and resident of the J. Darpo Reeves Community, Lawrence M. Fahnbulleh, presented the 2024 Golden Image Award he won in the media category to several churches in his community.
The 2024 Golden Image Award category of Journalism Award was recently awarded to Fahnbulleh by the Liberian Crusaders for Peace, headed by its Executive Director, Ambassador Juli Endee, in honor of Liberia’s former Information Minister, the late Professor Joe Wolubah Mulbah.
The award is part of effort to recognize the selfless and dedication of prominent Liberians who have worked, inspired and pushed for the development of Liberia.
In a show of respect and appreciation to his sojourn, Director Fahnbulleh presented his award to the Heroes Christian Center Church, Mount Carmel Healing and Deliverance Ministry, New Georgia Oldfield.
Making the presentation, Fahnbulleh asserted that the churches have been relentless in offering prayers for God’s divine intervention. According to him, if it has not been for the churches’ continued prayers the Golden Image Secretariat would not have selected him to win the nation’s highest media award.
The seasoned Liberian journalist noted that it is important to be respectful and committed in the discharge of one’s function, while promising the churches that he will remain humble in the discharge of his duty and continue to serve God and give Him praise.
He showered praises on the Executive Director of the Liberia Crusaders for Peace, Ambassador Endee, and her team for recognizing him from amongst many competent Liberian journalists. Furthermore, Fahnbulleh thanked the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) and the entire media community.
In response, Heroes Christian Center Church, the Mount Carmel Healing and Deliverance Ministry all jointly offered prayers for Fahnbulleh, while expressing their support, indicating that they were proud of him winning the award. They promised to always pray with him in his daily movement. “You have brought pride to us, you came back with the award to the churches,” they said.
