NDP Set To Hold Convention

The National Development Party (NDP), a newly formed political party, is set to hold its first national convention on May 6—7, 2023, with thousands of delegates to be in attendance from the fifteen (15) political subdivisions.

According to the Organizing Chairman, Musa Sheriff, thousands of delegates are expected to grace the occasion, in addition to invited guests, representatives of various political parties, independent observers, etc.

Organizing Chairman Sheriff said the party aspires to bring about development. According to him, the party is here to stay, and will implement a unique development ideology in the country.

He urged partisans and sympathizers to continue to support the party in order to restore the lost hope of the Liberian people. He however pointed out that the party will not work with any individual or group that do not share the same idea of development with the NDP.

The Organizing Chairman emphasized that development will be the crux of the party’s agenda. He disclosed that the party will seek membership from all walks of life, as it is the people’s party.

“The National Development Party is for the grassrooters,” Sheriff stated. “Liberia is our common denominator and, as such, Liberians must work assiduously to build a vibrant society.”

Sheriff said he is of the conviction that the National Development Party (NDP) will help change the socio-economic situations that Liberia is faced with.

The NDP Organizing Chairman, who is a formidable aspirant of district #2, Montserrado County, said the NDP will not field a presidential candidate, but will field senatorial and representative candidates.

Meanwhile, an ad-hoc convention committee, chaired by G. Sylvester Harmon, has been constituted. Positions to be contested for include Chairman, Vice Chairman, Vice Chairman for Inter-Party Affairs, Secretary General, Deputy Secretary for Press and Public Affair, etc.
