The National Elections Commission (NEC) has successfully ended the first in a series of Electoral District Dialogues in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, appealing to all candidates to make use of the law in addressing any disagreement that may arise from the November 16, 2021 representative by-elections in Bong, Bomi, Grand Gedeh and Nimba counties.
The Tubmanburg Dialogue, under the theme, “Enhancing Transparency in the Electoral Process”, seeks, amongst other things, to ensure that candidates and their supporters conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the by-elections and to create a platform where the commission and candidates can interact with a mutual spirit of partnership.
NEC Chairperson, Cllr. Davidetta Browne Lansanah, speaking Saturday in Tubmanburg, said candidates and their supporters, and registered voters of Bomi County should ensure that the 2021 representative by-election is conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.
The NEC boss indicated to the electoral stakeholders that “there is a solution for everything that happens in elections, which can be found in the law”. She said the dialogue also seeks to bring the Commission nearer to the public to discuss a process that will be conducted as smooth as possible.
