Orange Liberia, in partnership with UNDP and OpenSource Team Liberia, has brought together 84 children to learn about climate change and explore how technology and creativity can help protect the planet.
Speaking during the one-day workshop on Friday, November 14, 2025, the students from the EJ Hunter Memorial School learned about the effect climate change has on the environment and the need to keep their surroundings clean and green.
Through the SuperCoders COP30 Workshop, participants used Scratch programming to create animations, games, and digital stories that highlight environmental challenges and inspire action. The program aims to build digital skills, spark creativity, and nurture a new generation of environmentally conscious digital creators.
As the world continues to fight climate change, the Orange Digital Center (ODC) network across Africa and the Middle East is empowering young minds aged 10 to 13 years old to become part of the solution.
UNDP Program Coordinator, Abraham T. Tumbey, said it was observed long time ago that things were no longer the same on the earth. According to him, countries around the world, led by the UNDP, are currently in Brazil discussing ways on how they can come together to reduce greenhouse gases.
He said there was a huge debate after rivers started drying up and high temperature in some places, as such some experts along with world leaders are discussing the changes that are taking place on the earth.
