Pres. Boakai Makes Additional Appointments In Gov’t

The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has nominated additional officials to positions in government, affecting the ministries of Finance Development Planning, Justice, Information, Cultural Affairs & Tourism, Youth & Sports, Gender Children & Social Protection, Public Works and Transport as well as the Liberian Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC).

   The nominees include Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu, Minister of Youth and Sports; Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, Minister of Justice; Jerolinmek M. Piah, Minister of Information Cultural Affairs and Tourism; Gbeme Horace Kollie, Minister of Gender Children and Social Protection; Roland Giddings, Minister of Public Works; Sirleaf Tyler, Minister of Transport.

   Furthermore, President Boakai nominated Bill McGill Jones as Deputy Minister for Administration, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning; Dehpue Zuo as Deputy Minister for Economic Management, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning;  Anthony Myers as Deputy Minister for Fiscal Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning; Tanneh Branson as Deputy Minister for Budget and Development Planning, Ministry of Finance Development Planning; and Elwood T. Nettey as Comptroller and Accountant General, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

   He also nominated the Secretary General of the Unity Party, Amos Tweh, as Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC).

   These nominations are all subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate.

   Additionally, the President has named Emmanuel N. Reeves, Sr. as Officer-in-Charge of the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) and Jake Kabakole as Officer-in-Charge of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL).

   According to the release issued over the weekend, these nominations take immediate effect, and the officers-in-charge will oversee the institutions until their official heads are named.
