Pres. Weah Consoles South Africa

The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, has expressed profound sorrow following the death of Archbishop Desmond Mpilor Tutu, who died on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at age 90.

   According to a Foreign Ministry release, the late ArchbishopTutu was a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate who helped end apartheid in South Africa, and will be remembered for the significant role he played in the resurrection of the Republic of South Africa.

   Archbishop Tutu was known as an Anti-Apartheid Activist and Global Human Rights Campaigner.

   In his condolence message to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, President Weah, on behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Liberia and in his own name, extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of South Africa.

   He then hoped that the resilience and strength that the people of South Africa have would always be demonstrated during these challenging circumstances.
