Lawmakers and the Liberian public will be paying their respects to former Representative Regina Sokan Teah Williams on Friday, June 16, 2023 as her body lies in state at the Capitol Building in Monrovia.
Lying in state is a ceremonial tradition that is often reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to their country or state through their political career.
Regina Sokan Teah Williams, who died while serving as Registrar-General of the Cooperative Development Agency (CDA), also served as Representative of Montserrado County in the 52nd Legislature.
During her time in the House of Representatives, Williams served as member on the following committees; Rules, order and Administration, National defense, Planning & Economic Affairs, Agriculture forestry and fisheries, Banking & currency.
Meanwhile, On Friday, June 16, the remains of the late Regina Sokan Teah Williams will be removed from the St. Moses Funeral Home in Gardnersville and taken to the Capitol Building to lie in State at 10 O’clock ante meridian. Afterwards, the body will be returned to the Funeral Parlors.
