Rhodoxon Fayiah “Lies”; As Civil Society Organization Rubbishes Allegation Against VonBallmoos

The National Civil Society Union of Liberia (NASCUL) has observed with dismay an unfounded allegation emanating from journalist Rhodoxon Fayiah against the Director General of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), Dewitt vonBallmoos, that he is misusing pensioners’ funds to pay propagandists to fight against the re-election of President George Manneh Weah.

According to the group, the allegation is misleading and below any iota of truth, as vonBallmoos is a grateful beneficiary of the Weah-CDC administration who has been playing his role in ensuring that the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and President Weah are re-elected.

In a press release issued over the weekend, NACSUL condemned the allegation and recounted gains made by vonBallmoos in fostering the “Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development” and ensuring that President Weah is re-elected on the basis of the collective national development drive, which he is immensely contributing to.

Recently, the NASSCORP boss, vonBallmoos, came under attack by journalist Fayiah for allegedly paying pensioners’ money to propagandists to fight against the re-election of President George Manneh Weah. According to Fayiah, the first payment of US$15,000 was made to Alfred Togba, by check, on May 19, 2023 to begin the propaganda war against President Weah.

Fayiah claimed that the US$15,000 given to Togba was to settle Prophet Key and Eugene Fahngon to keep the propaganda alive, with additional funds to be released later and more propagandists recruited.

However, the National Civil Society Union of Liberia (NACSUL) has termed the allegation as laughable, with no fact to substantiate the claim. “Rhodoxon Fayiah lacks credibility, and the allegation itself is a make-up story to grab the attention of the NASSCORP boss,” the group clarified.

“While Hon. vonBallmoos and others are exerting efforts to carry out tangible development initiatives in the country, there are individuals, like Fayiah, bent on tarnishing his reputation. We challenge Fayiah to come up with the facts surrounding the allegation,” NACSUL maintained.

“NACSUL has been following the activities of the Director General, and can attest to his enormous contribution to the CDC government’s development drive. vonBallmoos has developed a system at NASSCORP that even the accuser is proud of, and continues to properly distribute pension funds accordingly, evident by the fact that no pensioner has gone on the rampage for their benefit.

“We are surprised by the strange accusation, and challenge Fayiah to come up with the facts to substantiate his allegation,” the group added.

Meanwhile, NACSUL has urged Fayiah to desist from falsely accusing the NASSCORP boss and any other public figure without evidence. The group also called on vonBallmoos to remain steadfast and resilient in his quest for national development, and not be swayed by such a cheap propaganda.
