Students of the El-Shaddai School System, Maryland Center, Bardnersville Road, have received certificates in Introduction to Computer. The two-month intensive training was provided by Legacy Sports Academy of the United States of America, in collaboration with the El-Shaddai School System Liberia.
According to Legacy Sports Academy Liberia’s Program Coordinator, Charles Rufus Wilson, the children successfully completed the course and were therefore being certificated.
Wilson noted that the training focused on only children between 4th grade and 9th grade.
He used the occasion to thank the Legacy Sports Academy U.S for coming to Liberia and providing support to Liberian children through technology.
For his part, Dr. Artemus W. Gaye, a member of Legacy Sports Academy’s Board of Directors who graced the program, said his organization is set to provide more support to Liberia and its people. He stated that instilling computer knowledge in Liberian children at the foundational level is a good thing for a better tomorrow.
Legacy Sports Academy was established by Manfred and Lyn Makor of North Carolina.
“These gentlemen have promised more support to address today’s challenges confronting Liberian children,” Dr. Gaye said.
Gaye appreciated the El-Shaddai School family for their level of commitment in the collaboration to support Liberian children.
