Several senior officials of the Government of Liberia (GOL) on April 24, 2025 received certificates in modern technology from SOMAPA IT company.
The certificates came following a three-day intensive active training organized by SOMAPA IT, an Asian-based company.
The training brought together several officials from government ministries and agencies.
Participants of the training were taught eBorder monitoring, decision-making, coordination and response across institutions or operations activities in Liberia.
During the training, participants also learned risk for security agencies and immigration formalities associated with passengers based on the passenger personal information, travel history, behavior pattern and other data sources.
The just-ended training provided participants a broader understanding on external data interface, passenger name record system, permit registration, among others. The training was conducted at the Royal Grand Hotel in Monrovia.
The last day of the training was very interactive among the facilitators and participants, with practical exercises on what was taught.
Antonette Johnson, one of the participants of the training, speaking on behalf of her colleagues, praised SOMAPA IT for providing such a worthy training for them as officials of government, and promised to implement what they have learned at their areas of assignment in government.
For his part, the Deputy Commissioner General for Operations, Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), Atty. A. Kundukai Jaleiba, who proxy for the LIS boss, Elijah Rufus, praised SOMAPA IT for coming to the Government of Liberia (GOL) and providing the necessary support in the area of modern technology training.
According to him, the government stands ready in moving Liberia forward in line with best practices.
Also speaking at the close of the three-day training, Edrick Noah, Assistant Minister for Administration, Public Safety, Ministry of Justice, expressed the government’s willingness in working along with SOMAPA IT. He urged his colleagues at the training to serve as SOMAPA IT ambassadors in Liberia.
The close of the training was well attended by the Government of Liberia, participants and SOMAPA IT facilitators.
