Montserrado County’s district #4 Representative-Candidate, Atty. Michael Thomas, has been endorsed by the Potential Youths of Shara Community for his election to the House of Representatives beginning January 2024; writes Ojuku Silver-tongue Kangar, Jr.
The enthusiastic political youth group, who wore Representative-Candidate Thomas’ T-shirts, marched from Cowfield community’s last intersection with political songs and battle cries to the candidate’s office at the Du-Port Road Orange Tower.
At the office, they sang, danced and shouted battle cries, saying “Michael is our political savior who will replace Incumbent Representative Rustolyn Suacco Dennis, and he is the electorate’s choice, zeeyee-oh; he is development-oriented, zeeyee-oh.
“Michael Thomas is the district’s B-54 say,” they said.
The group’s head, who revealed himself as Samuel Sugar-boy Sayon, stated that he was briefed a year ago by the Thomas’ Alliance for Change Chairman, Charles Cooper, and Atty. Thomas himself to join them, but he told them that he was vetting them and would join them in two or three months to election.
He explained that after vetting Thomas and seeing the development marks carried out by the Representative-Candidate in the district, especially vocational schools across the district that are empowering the citizens, he and his entourage convincingly endorsed Atty. Thomas’ representative bid.
“On this 30th day of August 2023, I Samuel Sugar-boy Sayon and including my entire team, come today to endorse honorable Michael Thomas as the next honorable for district #4 , Montserrado County,” Sayon, the head of Shara Community’s Potential Youths, stated.
Earlier, the Communication head of Representative-Candidate Thomas’ camp, Titus Kings, welcomed them with joy and said, “You guys have made the right decision. Welcome to the winning team and camp, where nobody is somebody.”
Owing to the statement, bike riders, women, youths, men, thugs, across the district recited Representative-Candidate Thomas’ name for being impactful on their lives, especially they who are direct beneficiaries of his vocational schools, loan program, and so on.
Sayon, bragging, said Thomas is not limited in Shara Community, but his political fame extends across the district, assuring Representative-Candidate Thomas’ team that he will deliver the district to him.
The endorsement program was witnessed by the Thomas Alliance for Change Chairman, Charles Cooper, and his corps of officials.
Unfortunately, Atty. Thomas was not present during the program due to busy schedule.
Welcoming the team, as he beamed with a smile, Chairman Cooper recalled the late South Africa President Nelson Mandela’s 27-year imprisonment ordeal and how he adhered to his political statement, “If l become President, l will lead for one term.”
“It reminds of ‘Sugar-boy’, whom we met a year-plus back and promised he would come two or three months to election,” Chairman Cooper said. “He is a man of his word.”
“l told him that the timing was long because l wanted him to come over so we could go out and galvanize force and comb the district,” Chairman Cooper added. “So his presence here today shows that he is man of his word. To those that believe in him, l want to welcome all of you.”
Sugar-boy, who has been working in incumbent Representative Dennis’ camp since her ascendancy, did not give any reason for leaving her camp as he endorsed Representative-Candidate Thomas.
