She Leads Sports, a Liberian-based tennis team, has entered into a partnership agreement with a tennis team based in New Jersey, United States of America, Youth for Tennis.
The two sport entities are expected to work closely in promoting tennis among female tennis players. Some of the agreements will be to provide scholarship programs for the youths in tennis and to create opportunities for them to become productive citizens in the future.
Speaking to Hot Pepper Sport over the weekend, the Founder and Executive Director of the She Leads Sports, Mr. Alfred Kandakai, an internationally certified coach, thanked Youth For Tennis for its kind gesture. He disclosed that his team recently received a US$200.00 grant to assist with transportation for the youths who have found interest in playing tennis and developing their skills through She Leads Sports.
Kandakai told Hot Pepper Sport that his organization is involved with grooming and empowering youths, especially girls, between 6 and 18, to become productive women through sport-based activities.
According to him, it is among their objectives to ensure that the young generation receives equal opportunities and access to sports and education, and to successfully prepare them for the future. He disclosed that his organization was founded in 2016 upon his return from Spain, where he participated in a coaching course.
He used the occasion to thank the US-based Youth For Tennis, and assured them of a cordial working relationship.
