President George M. Weah has expressed thanks and appreciation to all supporters, sympathizers and partisans of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) for the wave of massive support during the party’s official campaign launch, held on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS).
“I am very thankful to everyone who showed up yesterday in such large numbers during the official launch of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) campaign rally in order to express their support. As the Standard Bearer, I am grateful for your continuous backing in our collective quest to rebuild Liberia.
“Let me express particular thanks and appreciation for the passionate support of thousands of young people, including first-time voters, who commuted from various locations in order to demonstrate their approval of our youth-led programs. This has given us additional impetus to do more on your behalf,” President Weah said.
“Thanks, too, to our campaign team, the leadership and members of the party, including the women and youth leagues, as well as the various auxiliaries, for successfully planning and executing the launch, which became a blue wave across Montserrado and at the concurrent rallies in the rest of the 14 counties of Liberia. Your work on behalf of the CDC and the people of Liberia shall never go in vain.
“I urge you not to rest on your laurels. Now is the time to accelerate our community engagements as we move closer towards implementing our goal for first-round victory in October,” the President added.
In a related development, the Chairman of the CDC, Mulbah K. Morlu Jr., has joined President Weah to express gratitude to the “resilient masses, the people, our people, our diehard militants and foot-soldiers scattered throughout the constituencies. You’re our heroes & heroines, thank you. As we have often assured you, let’s keep fighting together in unity, and we will certainly win together. No soldier will be left behind, I assure you that.”
Morlu said it was, indeed, the most massive singular rally Liberia has ever seen, and it took place across the entire country.
“I want to extend many thanks to the Nagbe-led campaign committee, the entire party structure and ‘silent supporters’ for this gigantic success,” he continued his gratitude.
“And I use this time to congratulate the over 1,000 students that recently graduated from the party’s vocational training school, Munah-Tech. Congratulations, and we got even bigger and better plans for our partisans and supporters moving forward.
“Anyway, now that we have achieved this historic ‘one-round victory’ feat together in unity, all fighting forces and ‘trench warriors’ in Montserrado County are encouraged to remain actively deployed and engaged on a day-to-day basis, going street-to-street and house-to-house,” he added.
According to him, “President Weah and Vice President Taylor truly deserve a ‘one-round victory’ that’s going to be free, fair and transparent. Amidst the global challenges that have affected every nation on earth for years now, this President has kept Liberia safe, peaceful and healthy, protected all fundamental rights and moved the nation forward in impressive development gains. Therefore, his ‘one round’ re-election victory is a patriotic duty for all Liberians.”
