The 44th annual convention of the Third Providence Baptist Church, Logan Town, has commenced with more than 100 persons in attendance.
During the official opening of the convention, the opening sermon was delivered by the Pastor-In-Charge, Rev. S.E Emmanuel Ward, ll, under the theme, “The Double Portion of God’s Blessing”.
Rev. Ward used the occasion to admonish delegates to put aside their individual differences and concentrate on evangelizing the Gospel, in an effort to save souls.
He called on the delegates to go out and recruit non-Christians to God by reaching out to communities that are yet to be reached by the Gospel.
Rev. Ward said the theme of this year’s convention was taken from ll Kings 2:2—11 and Mark 16:17—19. He disclosed that the administrators of the church have agreed to conduct a workshop on Christian leadership role in society, hold a cake rally, a family day and a song service, among others.
According to him, the time has come for Liberians, most especially the Christian community, to help government to promote peace, unity and reconciliation.
