The United Bong County Association in the Americas (UBCAA) will on Friday, July 22, 2022 begin its three-day annual conference in the State of Rhode Island, United States of America.
This year’s annual convention brings together citizens of Bong County residing in the United States of America and other parts of the world in attendance.
The convention is the platform for presentations, deliberations and strategic planning meetings conducted by more than thirty experts, community leaders and stakeholders. Participants at the event will explore innovative solutions and sustainable development plans in addressing issues relating to education, agriculture, health, budgetary and fiscal management system, the role of the media in community development, among other critical issues affecting the people of Bong County.
According to UBCAA President, Caimon Joe Kollie, the annual convention is a remarkable beginning in the rebranding of UBCAA as a vibrant community-based organization.
Kollie noted that the UBCAA has made tremendous strides in achieving national and international objectives since the ascendency of his leadership in 2021.
He said his team has set up a robust outreach mechanism to connect all citizens of Bong County, in an effort to expand UBCAA membership and reconcile the community in building a vibrant organization.
The UBCAA President also stated that his leadership has expanded its technical working committees, including education, health, social welfare, youth, women, elders, the advisory council and a website, to enhance effective communication of UBCAA’s activities.
Kollie said, in Bong County, his leadership has developed the UBCAA-Liberia program, established a full functional office with a community resource center, a community farm, donated to institutions and persons living with disability and established collaborative partnership with stakeholders.
The UBCAA President noted that, having understood the challenges confronting the wellbeing of the county, his leadership will do its best to provide the necessary solutions to issues affecting the forward match of the county and its people.
The conference is from July 22—24, 2022. Agenda items of day-one include arrival and registration, while day-two is business meetings.
For the presentation aspect, there are several personalities selected to discuss critical topics. The first presenter is Dr. Amos M.D. Sirleaf (Ph.D.), who will present on the topic, “Reconciliation”. The second presenter is Rev. Dr. Moses Suah-Dennis, who will discuss “Community Investment”, and followed by group presentations.
He disclosed that group one will be discussing “Building Financial Protection, Wealth and Critical Insurance”, and group two will be deliberating on “Healthcare System in Liberia: Challenges and Opportunities”, which will be followed by sessions’ reports.
The convention is usually conducted each year by the leadership of UBCAA. This year’s annual convention is held under the theme, “Reimagining UBCAA: Past, Present and Future”.
UBCAA is a community-based not-for-profit organization that serves as an umbrella organization for Bong County citizens in the United States of America. Its mission is to promote unity and cooperation among its members and address issues confronting the forward match of Bong County. It also provides solutions to issues affecting the livelihood of Bong and its citizenry.
