Following the disruption of the September 16, 2023 convention of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA), which led to the cancellation of the general convention’s election without the assembly passing a resolution to extend the tenure of the incumbent leadership or the election of a new leadership, the Board of Directors of the institution has resolved to temporarily transfer leadership from the incumbent administration to an interim body.
According to information gathered from ULAA Board of Directors, chapter XXIII, Article 7 of the constitution gives the Board of Directors the right to appoint an interim leadership in the absence of a legitimate leadership. The Hot Pepper was informed that the interim body is to run the affairs of ULAA for 90 days if the nullified election affects the ticket of the president and vice president.
The Board of Directors of ULAA, headed by Alfred Sieh, informed the media that there is a temporary transfer of leadership from the incumbent President, Shiwoh Kamara, to the National Board of Directors, and the American public is hereby advised to direct all matters and transactions of ULAA to the board of directors.
