The Representative-Candidate of Montserrado County’s electoral district#14 on the Unity Party (UP) ticket, Emmanuel K. Barnes, has vowed to defeat incumbent Representative Abraham V. Corneh and other candidates contesting for the district’s seat come October 10, 2023.
Barnes stated that Representative Corneh has massively failed the citizens, gravely misrepresenting and under-representing the people of the district at the Capitol Building.
According to him, the current lawmaker cannot boast of any tangible project that he has undertaken within the district since his election.
The UP candidate stated that the residents of the district are lacking good healthcare delivery system, education facilities, safe-drinking water, capacity building for the youths, empowerment for market women, amongst others, claiming that Representative Corneh has not been working in the interest of district #14 and its people.
The Unity Party candidate observed that his going to the Capitol Building is to relieve his people from poverty, adding that the district is at a critical juncture and needs a leader like him to redeem it.
Representative-Candidate Emmanuel Barnes stated that his coming into the race is to ensure, if elected, that the district benefits from tangible development initiatives and put on par with other positively transformed districts.
According him, paramount on his agenda for the residents include health, education, youth empowerment, security, reconciliation and sanitation.
Barnes used the occasion to call on residents of district #14 to shine their eyes and vote wisely for the development of their respective communities. He said, if elected, they stand to benefit lots of good things from the Capitol Building.
Barnes also used the medium to state that former Vice President Joseph N. Boakai will win the October 10, 2023 general and presidential elections during the first round. According to him, Boakai is the only alternative for the Liberian people, as the CDC government, headed by President George M. Weah, has massively failed the Liberian people and, in turn, they are ready to replace him with the Unity Party.
Meanwhile, Candidate Barnes is expected to officially launch his campaign in the district during the weekend, disclosing that the occasion will be attended by executives of the Unity Party and other prominent individuals.
