Who Wins Indiana Election? As Liberian Community Go To The Polls November 5

Indiana, one of the 50 states in the United States of America, comprises of people from different parts of the world, including Liberia.

   The Liberian Association of Indiana is a chapter of the Union of Liberian Association in the America’s (ULAA). It has been around as an association for twenty years now.

   Liberians residing in Indianapolis are set to participate in the election of a new leadership on November 5, 2022. Those contesting to be President of the Liberian community in Indiana are Julius Parker and Philip Logan, one of whom will be elected to serve on a three-year tenure, 2023—2026.

   According to report from Indianapolis, Presidential Candidate, Philip Logan, during a recently held debate organized by that body’s electoral board, walked out in protest, citing irregularities in the process.

   Outgoing President of the Liberian community in Indiana, Rufus Tartee, has called on the two contestants to avoid any act of violence that will undermine the objective of the election.

   “The association first and the association last,” outgoing President told the two candidates.
