–Foreign Ministry Provides Answers
Liberia seeks non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council to contribute to global peace and security, particularly in Africa, and to enhance collaboration between the UN and regional bodies. Specially, Liberia aims to leverage its experience in conflict mediation, prevention and post-conflict reconstruction to address challenges in Africa and the Sahel. Additionally, Liberia seeks to strengthen multilateralism and promote a more inclusive and Representative UN Security Council, particularly reflecting the needs of Africa.
African Representation:
Liberia, like many African nations, seeks to address the historical underrepresentation of Africa in the Security Council, both in terms of permanent and non-permanent seats. Liberia Africa, with its significant population and UN membership, deserves a greater voice.

Liberia has highlighted the injustice of Africa’s historical marginalization in the Security Council. We believe that the council needs to reflect the realities of the 21st century and include more voices from Africa.
