This week, ArcelorMittal Liberia is celebrating a long-service staff of the ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) School System, Alice Jasper, who is the Vice Principal of Area “C” School, in Yekepa, Nimba County.

Jasper joined the AML School System in 2006 as a Librarian and became its Registrar in 2014.

Given her hard work, commitment and dedication to service, after four years as registrar Jasper was elevated to the position of Vice Principal for Area “C” School, where she currently serves.

In an interview, the hardworking Jasper said it has been a rewarding experience working with ArcelorMittal Liberia. “I enjoy my service with AML, and especially my interaction with students and coworkers,” she said.

She stated that she feels happy and enjoys molding the minds of Liberia’s future leaders, especially at the AML School System, which is rated among the best schools in the country in terms of academic performance and moral discipline.

As part of her regular role, Jasper assists the principal in administering the daily affairs of the school—reviewing curriculum, monitoring and supervising teachers—and teaches reading and social studies in the elementary division.

She holds a bachelor of arts degree in education from ABC University, Yekepa, Nimba County.

Area “C” School Principal, Thomas N. Boakai, praised Jasper for her dedication to administering the affairs of the school.

According to Boakai, his vice principal is hardworking, cooperative and dutiful to service.

Women like Alice who are in school leadership roles foster collaborative environments, more likely to promote equity and social issues, all of which can improve student outcomes.    Alice’s workmates have repeatedly testified that she has shown to be an employing transformational leader with valuable skills that help boost her school’s morale.
