AYF Liberia Gathers Youth Leaders to Address Nat’l Issues
The African Youth Fellowship Liberia (AYF) is set to convene over 50 youth leaders this Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the European Union Office in Mamba Point. The focus will be on addressing critical national issues such as mob violence, human trafficking, drug abuse and youth unemployment through an engaging panel discussion.
According to Moses Buwee, the Founder of AYF Liberia, the organization will launch its first flagship program, titled, “Youth Assembly” in Liberia, under the theme, “Fostering an Inclusive Path towards Sustainable and Systematic Solutions for Youth Empowerment”. He explained that the youth assembly is an annual gathering designed to bring together innovative young leaders, activists and changemakers to discuss and collaborate on pressing national issues.
“Our mission at AYF is to create a transformative platform that empowers young leaders and change-makers to tackle these challenges comprehensively and collaboratively,” Buwee stated. He emphasized that the event aims to inspire and equip the next generation of leaders with the tools and knowledge necessary to address and overcome the pressing issues facing today’s youth.
The event will feature distinguished guests, including the youth and sports minister, DEA director, human trafficking division at MOL, EU ambassador to Liberia, the ECOWAS ambassador to Liberia, the US ambassador to Liberia, and representatives from various civil society organizations (CSOs). Their presence is expected to inspire and motivate the young leaders and other esteemed guests in attendance.
