Susu Sophia El Ali, a Liberian bodybuilder based in Canada, is set to offer life-changing business and job opportunities for five single mothers in Liberia.

Susu’s initiative aims to provide business resources and employment opportunities that will enable these women to become self-reliant. She said she believes that through economic empowerment these mothers will not only support their families but also contribute positively to their communities.

Speaking from Canada, Susu said, “I understand the struggles that many women face, especially single mothers. By providing them with the tools to start or grow their businesses, I hope to give them a chance to achieve financial independence and create a better future for their children.”

The five women selected for the program will receive funding, mentorship and business skills training. These opportunities will help them establish small businesses or find jobs, significantly improving their financial stability.

Susu, who runs Susufit, an online exercise and bodybuilding platform, is Liberia’s foremost award-winning female bodybuilder. She has participated in the Ultimate Fitness Events and others, and has been recognized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Liberia for her bodybuilding efforts and representation of the country.

Susu also runs the Network for Bridging the Social Gap for Young Women, whose mission is to provide economic and social development support through capacity-building initiatives. The network empowers young girls, women and vulnerable individuals through basic career training, computer skills, micro-loan projects, social development initiatives, and community mobilization through community centers.

The initiative by Susu is expected to have a lasting positive impact on the lives of the women, their families, and the broader community. She hopes this effort will inspire other successful Liberians abroad to invest in similar programs that uplift the less fortunate in the country.
