The Board of Tax Appeals (BoTA) has disclosed the holding of phase one of its tax appeals seminar under the theme, “Taxpayers’ Bill of Rights and the Appeals Process”, and called on key stakeholders in the tax system to participate in the event.
The event will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., in the Conference Hall of the YMCA, Crown Hill.
According to BoTA, the seminar is designed to strengthen understanding and awareness of the tax appeals process among actors in the tax and legal systems of Liberia, and aims to promote transparency, accountability and legal clarity in tax dispute resolution.
Invited institutions include the Ministry of Justice, the Taxation Class of the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, members of the Tax Practitioners Association of Liberia, and so on.
Facilitators from the various entities include the Tax Court of Liberia, the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) and the Board of Tax Appeals (BoTA).
Meanwhile, participants will engage in in-depth discussions on the tax appeals process at all three institutional levels.
BoTA said it believes that the insights and contributions from stakeholders will foster a fairer and more effective tax administration and appeals framework in Liberia.
