Bukonjadeh Seeks National Reconciliation
The Chief Executive Officer of the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies, Elton Johns, has urged Liberians to seek national reconciliation in this post-election time to move Liberia forward.
Elton Johns noted that national reconciliation is critical to unify Liberians from all walks of life, despite their political, social and economic status in the society.
Johns made the assertion over the weekend during a brief discussion with Legislative reporters at the Capitol Building in Monrovia.
He underscored that the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies will work along with the in-coming government under the leadership of Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai, President-elect, and congratulated out-going President, George Manneh Weah, for accepting defeat graciously after the November 14, 2023 presidential election run-off.
According to him, Liberia has set a high standard for democratization in Africa and the world at large in terms of strengthening democracy around the globe.
Johns stated that it is about time for all Liberians and the in-coming government to create a conducive atmosphere to enhance the business community in Liberia.
He maintained that creating a peaceful environment will encourage local and foreign investments, especially Liberian businesses.
He said his company is engaged with microfinance, construction and real estate businesses, and next year 2024, it intends to expand into other counties.
Johns asserted that business requires trustworthiness, integrity and commitment to move the company from one level to another, and young Liberian business men and women should be determined to make the different in their businesses—if the economy of Liberia is to get in the hands of Liberians.
He explained that young Liberians should desist from drug abuse, which is destroying the moral fabric of the Liberian society.
He pointed out that the transformation of Liberia will depend on every Liberian to rally around the in-coming government to make Liberia a better place to live.
Johns emphasized that without peace it will be impossible to move the development agenda of Liberia forward, but when the country is peaceful transformation can be achieved.
