The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bukonjadeh Group of Companies, Elton D. Johns, has threatened to name and shame lawmakers who are indebted to his company since last year.

According to CEO Johns, members of the 55th Legislature are indebted to Bukonjadeh since last year and they have refused to meet up with their obligations, but the company is considering naming and shaming them publicly.

Making the disclosure on Wednesday, Johns noted that the behavior of the lawmakers towards Bukonjadeh is intentional, and decried that their action is undermining the growth and development of the institution.

He warned that in the next publication Bukonjadeh will not hesitate to publish the names of indebted lawmakers in newspapers as delinquent borrowers to the microfinance institution.

The Bukonjadeh boss lamented that it is unfortunate that some Liberians are trying to undermine the potential of Liberian businesses, noting that the empowerment of Liberian businesses will go a long way in transforming the development of the nation.

At the same time, the Bukonjadeh Group of Companies boss has expressed concerns about the freeze on USAID programs in Liberia and other countries around the world. He described the action as worrisome.

According to him, the freezing of the USAID programs will seriously affect the business community in Liberia, and urged the government to put in all necessary mechanisms to ensure that Liberia maintains these programs.
