CDC Chairman, Mulbah K. Morlu, reads press statement

The ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) has launched what it terms as “a new beginning in 2021” in preparation for the pending 2023 legislative and presidential elections. The new beginning of CDC was launched Friday, March 19, 2021 at the party’s headquarters in Congo Town, under the theme, “We Are Stronger than Before”.

Addressing a team of reporters at the party’s headquarters, the party Chairman, Mulbah K. Morlu, said 2021 is now considered by the party as a year of a new beginning and time to rebrand the party in order to fully prepare for the pending 2023 general elections. He told reporters that CDC is in the middle of the six-year mandate given by the Liberian people through their decision during the election day in 2017. According to him, the time has come for the party to reconsolidate and re-strategize on finding solution for the bread and butter issue affecting the Liberian people.

Chairman Morlu used the occasion to appreciate all CDCians for their patience during the three-year period, when most of them are still unemployed. He urged them to uphold the trust and commitment for the party for the betterment of the country. According to him, since President George M. Weah’s ascendancy to the presidency, there is no record of CDCians protesting against their own government in the quest for job or difficulty.

Although Chairman Morlu applauded the President for employing CDCians in government, he however appealed to him to double up by employing more qualified CDCians in government. He revealed that CDCians will never betray the President in the governance process, and will always protect the image of the party. He cautioned CDCians to remain faithful and loyal to the party as they prepare for another political battle in 2023.

In the rebrand process, Chairman Morlu disclosed plans to begin the process of electing all zones and districts head across the country and issue new party identification card to properly identify true CDCians. The process, according to him, will run from now to the end of 2021.
