The Coalition for Democratic Change has disclosed that it has documented all violence allegedly perpetrated against its partisans by the Unity Party (UP), to be submitted to the international community. Addressing a major news conference Tuesday, October 3, 2023, CDC National Chairman, Mulbah Morlu, said all recent brutal acts, including the Foya, Lofa County, electoral violence, leaving at least two CDCians dead, have been systematically captured.

He termed the opposition Unity Party as a violent political institution, which he claimed is determined to end the country, as indicated by its Standard Bearer, Ambassador Joseph Boakai, if the October 10, 2023 polls are rigged.

The party’s Chair alleged that members of the Unity Party, out of what he called hatred, did not only kill CDCians but also went against development by rooting out the solar light poles planted by Representative Thomas Fallah in Foya, Lofa County.

“This brutal act shows the kind of bad leadership Joseph Boakai and his UP want to bring to national government, and such an act justifies the old man’s assertion that it will be the end of the country,” Chairman Morlu stated.

Morlu also disclosed that CDCians are being reportedly attacked daily on the principal streets in Lofa County for wearing their party’s identity.

“It was clearly shown that those perpetrators from the Unity Party were carrying fire arms to tell how Boakai wants to govern this country, and the Liberian people can never make such a big mistake to let it happen,” he added.

He emphasized that patriotic Liberians will not allow the former Vice President and Standard Bearer of the UP to split the country through chaos due to hatred and desperation for power.

Morlu charged all members of the ruling establishment to peacefully pay back the Unity Party and its political leader Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai during the October 10, 2023 presidential and legislative elections in the country.

“Let me very emphatic here that Mr. Boakai bears the greatest responsibility for the killing of our partisans in Lofa; as such, he will be paid back by Liberians through defeat at the ballot box on October 10,” he noted.

At the same time, Mulbah Morlu called on all CDCians to complete their mission of re-electing President George Manneh Weah and democratically prevent Ambassador Boakai from the Liberian presidency.

Meanwhile, Mulbah Morlu thanked all members of the CDC for demonstrating peacefulness amid electoral violence, specifically in Foya, Lofa County.

He also asserted that October 8—the day the CDC is officially closing its national campaign activities—is now captioned, “CDC One Round Victory March”.

According to him, the CDC is poised to put out over 1 million citizens to win the October 10, 2023 election in the country.
