The Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) will on Saturday, October 18, 2025 officially break ground for the construction of its headquarters in oldest Congo Town, Monrovia, as announced by the Chairman of the CDC Headquarters Committee, Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa.

By the evening hours of Thursday, October 16, 2025, partisans and supporters of the CDC were seen at the designated site for the new headquarters clearing and cleaning the plot of land, in preparation for the official groundbreaking on Saturday.

The event is expected to bring together executives, stalwarts, partisans, sympathizers and well-wishers of the party, including the Political Leader and former President, George M. Weah.

Meanwhile, the Liberia National Police (LNP) has announced that temporary traffic diversions will be in effect on Saturday, October 18, 2025, to facilitate the groundbreaking ceremony for the headquarters of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC).

According to a police statement, to ensure public safety and smooth vehicular movement, all vehicles traveling from Central Monrovia will be diverted through the Congo Town back road; and vehicles traveling from Paynesville toward Central Monrovia will proceed as usual.

“These measures will remain in effect from 8:00 a.m. until evening hours,” the LNP statement noted.

The LNP reminded operators of motorbikes and auto-rickshaws, also known as (keh-keh), that restrictions in designated zones remain strictly enforced.
