Chris Electrical Corporation, a Liberian-owned company, its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chris Johnson, said his  company, with over five years of experience and the best personnel in electrical engineering, has been subcontracted by  the Ministry of Public Works to install presidential street lights on the 72nd SKD Boulevard.

The Liberian-owned company has installed street lights in several counties, including Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa and Bong.

Johnson also pointed out that his company is specialized in the construction transmission and distribution of 22Kv 33Kv 66Mv electricity, among others works.

According to CEO Johnson, very soon the project is expected to be completed, and President George Manneh Weah will switch on the lights on the 72nd SKD Boulevard.

Johnson disclosed that the placement of lights on the streets will drastically reduce the high rate of  accident, criminality and  fear of driving at night.

It can be recalled that the former administration of President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf asphalt-paved the roads but street light was not installed.

The government of President George Manneh Weah  has warned unscrupulous individuals bent on destroying national installations, especially the installation of  street lights, of risking arrest and prosecution.

On Friday, February 5, 2021 the the Liberian government formally switched on street lights on the Bushrod Island, urging every citizen to own and ensure the protection of the poles.

The government also urged those in the habit of unscrewing  poles to desist from such behavior as there will be tough action if they are caught.

Counties currently enjoy the street-lighting project included Montserrado, Bomi, Bong and Grand Bassa.
