A group of hardline Christians under the banner of National Christian Council of Liberia have launched a massive campaign to rid the country of monuments they consider idols, and deliver the nation from the hands of Satan.

The group said these monuments are ancient satanic idols brought into the country by past leaders to undermine the influence of the true God over the country.

Christian Council of Liberia President, Dr. Rudolf Marsh, said the existence of these structures around public building has angered the living God and master of Heaven and Earth, and He is ready to punish the nation if they are not demolished.

Dr. Marsh maintained that the 1990 wars followed by pandemics that claim so many lives in the country are signs that God is preparing to unleash more punishment on the people of Liberia if they fail to abide by His instructions.

The iconic preacher, with a large following, called on the government of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to order the demolition of these monuments and save his country from total destruction.

Dr. Marsh maintained further that the presence of what he termed idols is responsible for division and disagreement among political leaders, growing poverty among the people, massive underdevelopment and random breakdown of law and order.

Speaking to the Hot Pepper at the Capitol Building, where he had gone to alert the people’s representatives about the situation, the man of God said there will be no peace in the country unless these demonic structures posing as monuments are totally demolished and removed from public domain.

He pointed out that a large number of such structures are on display around the country, and among them the monument at the Temple of Justice and Capitol Building posing serious threat to the nation’s spiritual wellbeing.

The prelate disclosed that his Christian organization is working along with Muslims and other religious denominations to succeed in his campaign, and called on followers of God to join and save the nation.
