Cinta Youth for Sustainable Development (CYSD) has rubbished recent social media allegation that the Farmers Hope, a company purchasing rubber for Jeety Rubber LLC, is polluting a nearby river with chemicals. The youth group termed the allegation as far-fetched, erroneous and a ploy to jeopardize needed investment in their community.

Cinta is a township located in district #5, Margibi County, where the Jeety rubber plant is being constructed.

In response to the river pollution claim, the CYSD said, “As residents and future leaders of Cinta Township, we see the negative propaganda as a conduit to derail much-needed development and investment in our community. There is not an iota of truth in the allegation, especially so when there is no use of chemicals at the site.”

The group contended that a vast majority of those supplying Farmers Hope with rubber are residents of Cinta and parts adjacent, emphasizing that they have already begun reaping the benefits of Jeety’s investment, and it is heartless and anti-developmental for someone to make up fallacies about the happenings in their community without facts.

The Cinta Youth for Sustainable Development warned those parading with the false news to desist, as lying on the name of their community would bring them no good.

“This is the first time for a major investment to come to our community, and we will not sit and allow unscrupulous individuals to jeopardize the investor’s investment,” the group said.

They explained, “Early this year, Upjit Singh Sachdeva (Jeety) walked into this place, which was covered by bushes, and decided to invest. Through his investment, a lot of our citizens are benefitting from housing rentals, employment and exposure. Jeety has employed about 200 persons at the factory’s construction site, many of whom are young people. He is also constructing a clinic for the people of the county.

“We urge Jeety to remain focused and not be distracted by elements of anti-development. Let him rest assured that we will protect his investment in our county as if it is ours,” the group emphasized.
