Cummings: CPP Will Hold!
The Political Leader of the Alternative National Congress (ANC), a constituent party of the opposition Collaborating Political Party (CPP), Alexander Benedict Cummings, has assured partisans of CPP and Liberians at large that, despite the political tension within the CPP ahead of the process leading to the selection of the political head, the collaboration will hold.
The ANC Political Leader made the assurance statement on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 when he appeared on a local show in Monrovia. He said the political argument regarding who to head the collaboration is just a normal thing in every given body polity. According to him, all political disagreement and showcasing of candidate will surely come to an end with the best person selected to head the collaboration.
Cummings emphasized that the CPP is best suited to make President George M. Weah a one-term President. According to him, Liberians are highly depending on the CPP to redeem them from the economic hardship and suffering currently in the country. CPP, he averred, is the only alternative for Liberians, and will therefore do everything politically and humanly possible to hold together for the betterment of the country. He promised Liberians that no amount of politics will cause him to leave the CPP, even if he is not chosen to head the ticket.
Cummings of the ANC and Joseph N. Boakai of the Unity Party are the two political leaders within the CPP vying to head the ticket comes 2023. CPP, which comprises of Unity Party, Liberty Party, All Liberian Party and the Alternative National Congress is expected to conclude the selection of head of the collaboration at the end of 2021. The process might be done through a primary or an agreed-upon agreement as to who heads the CPP.
