The Alternative National Congress (ANC), a constituent party of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), through its Political Leader, Alexander B. Cummings, has debunked the utterance of Benoni W. Urey, Political Leader of the All Liberia Party (ALP), accusing him (Cummings) of tempering with the CPP framework agreement.

Cummings, who recently walked out of a CPP’s political meeting in Monrovia, voiced that the CPP framework agreement crafted, signed and agreed upon by the collaborating parties was at no time redone or tempered with, as claimed by Urey.

He also took out time to set the record straight that the framework document filed at the National Elections Commission (NEC) was not a photocopy version, as was mentioned in the public domain by the ALP political leader.

“Had this been the case,” Cummings indicated, “NEC would not have accepted the CPP framework document.”

The ANC political top guru said he thought to make the clarification to public when he addressed newsmen at the ANC headquarters in Monrovia, flanked by the leadership of the party, members of the party’s legislative caucus, the party’s Executive Committee and youth and women wing, among others.

He then underscored the need for full adherence of the CPP framework agreement by signatories of the Collaborating Political Parties (CPP) as 2023 general and presidential elections draw nearer in Liberia.

On the issue of in-fight/spilt in the CPP based upon his recent walkout from a CPP strategic meeting convened at a local hotel Monrovia, the ANC boss voiced that what is obtaining in the CPP is not an in-fight nor a split, neither is he fueling an internal conflict.

“I walked out of the CPP meeting because other members are reneging on uphold the framework agreement to the letter for their own aggrandizement.

“CPP is still in tact and remains a viable alternative to remove the CDC-led government from power,” Cummings noted.

Speaking further, Cummings said the ANC will not quit the CPP and will participate in its primary. “Whoever becomes the CPP standard bearer, be it Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai or I, will win President George Weah in 2023 general and presidential election,” Cummings stated assuredly.

According to Cummings, if there is to be a change of the status quo/the power-that-be, it would require the full commitment of every Liberian, including the CPP, to replace the CDC-led administration come 2023 presidential polls.

The ANC Political Leader reiterated his earlier tough stance: “The CDC government headed by football icon George Weah is managing the Liberian economy very poorly, disrespecting the rule of law as corruption remains at the highest peak, at the detriment of the Liberian populace.”
