Community Youth Network Program (CYNP) has identified 300 disadvantaged youth for rehabilitation and reintegration into the society.

According to the Executive Director of CYNP, Pauline C.N. Toe, the rehabilitation of the disadvantaged youth across the country is critical towards building the potential of the youthful population of Liberia.

Toe made the disclosure on Christmas Day when CYNP celebrated the day with some disadvantaged youth in the 72nd Community, Paynesville, outskirts of Monrovia.

She noted that rehabilitating disadvantaged youth should be prioritized to enhance the development of the young people. According to her, the in-coming government and international partners should support programs that will help to rehabilitate and reintegrate disadvantage youth in the society.

Toe explained that the CYNP has over the years been working with disadvantaged youth, but now needs the necessary assistances to further look after 300 disadvantaged youth in the communities.

She said some of the disadvantaged youth have the potential to be productive citizens if they are given the opportunity to be rehabilitated.

She explained that the disadvantaged youth should take advantage of rehabilitation programs and try to change their condition in the society.

Meanwhile, the Spokesman of the disadvantage youth in the 72nd Community, Andrew M. Johnson, expressed thanks and appreciation to the CYNP executives for remembering them and hoping to help change their status in the country.

Johnson stated that it is unfortunate that some of them have been addicted to drugs and bad habits, although they will now have the opportunity to be rehabilitated.

He emphasized that rehabilitation of disadvantage youth will go a long way to reintegrate more of them into the society to become useful citizens in the nation.
