Deacon Halter Logan: Liberia’s Woes Will Deepen If…

A Deacon of the Assembly of God, Halter Logan, has underscored that the Liberian society is infested with criminals and criminal activities, with women walking half naked on the streets and corruption on the rise.

“For Liberia to go forward, we must put God Almighty first. If we put God first in this nation, Liberia will experience fruitfulness,” he said, frowning at the lawlessness of the society.

“See how the society is looking. The fear of God has left Liberia, and there is no one to trust. People are deceitful these days,” Deacon Logan said.

He recalled the society’s calmness before the civil war, saying the fear of God was in the hearts of parents who passed it over to their children. He observed that children were not abusive, and any parent could beat on any child for improper behavior without confusion and threat from their biological parents.

“It is a result of the civil war and majority of the children these days are self-reared. They have become zogoes because of successive governments’ failure to recruit and rehabilitate them,” he said, blaming the government and the church, which is the spiritual watchdog for the nation. “In the 1960s, 70s, 80s people could walk in the streets at any hours without harassment. People had no time for iron gate erection at their doors and iron bars at their windows, which is a matter of must at present.

“People could wash their clothes and leave them hanging on the line, go out and return and meet it there, hanging. Neighbors trusted one another, and children were not loose as compared to these days,” he continued.

This is no longer happening again in the society, both at urban and rural. The church has compromised the salvation message by promoting prosperity messages, a situation that is causing deepened woes for the society.

“If we refused to obey God, Liberia will always be behind: we will grieve, complain and cry for help, and no one will come to our aid,” he said in an angry tone. “God says we should seek him first and every other thing will be added unto us, according to Matthew 6:33.”

The book of Proverb says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. According to Deacon Logan, Liberia’s woes are deepening because of Liberians ignoring God’s instructions, doing what pleases them, and their failure to live up to the covenant made during the war.

“The warning is that we must seek the Almighty God’s face or we will not get the rightful leaders and we will always be suppressed in our own country,” he sounded a stern caveat, nudging his head twice during the interview.

According to the Book of Revelation, nothing should be added or subtracted from the Book. As “satanic” human rights promotion takes over the world, everyone is doing what pleases him or her in order to promote the devil’s three-fold agenda, as found in John 10:10: steal, kill and destroy, while Jesus gives life in abundance.

“We should repent as a nation and people. Let’s do true repentance to turn back to God and see if God will not give us that open door, that abundant life He talks about in the Book of John,” he said.
