A prominent Liberian in the diaspora, Alfred Sieh, has condemned all forms of electoral violence taking place in Liberia during the election.

Alfred Sieh noted that peace at the moment is paramount among all in Liberia.  According to him, every Liberian citizen should be respected for their political view and affiliation as well.

Sieh made the statement during a conversation with the Hot Pepper via mobile. He is at the same time calling on every Liberian citizen to avoid any act of violence that has the propensity of undermining the country’s peace and stability.

Sieh said Liberia is all Liberians have as citizens of the country. He noted that the world is watching Liberia’s entire electoral process, and expects much from Liberians.

“All we need is peace for a better future of Liberia,” he indicated. “There shall be no reason for killing each other during and after the election.”

It can be recalled that just prior to the October 10 election there was conflict between the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and the opposition Unity Party (UP).

Recently, another conflict between the two parties was recorded in Nimba County.
