The Federation of Fula Students of Liberia (FFUSOL) on Friday, February 11, 2022 inducted into office its first female President, Aminata Bah, with stakeholders of the community calling on the student group not to waiver on the tenets of democracy; instead, promote unity, academic excellence and girl empowerment.

The program, held on Benson Street, was attended by the President of the Fula Business Association (FBAL), Mohammed M. Barrie; Secretary General of Fulani United of Liberia and Tabital Pulaaku International (Liberia) concomitantly, Mohammed S. Bah; Board Chairman of FFUSOL, Sheik Y. Jalloh; former presidents, officials and members of FFUSOL, as well as other organizations of the Fula community.

At the start of the occasion, the Secretary General of FFUSOL, Mohammed L. Jalloh, welcomed the gathering and reminded them that they were assembled to witness the induction ceremony of FFUSOL’s new president, which was prompted by the resignation of the former President, Arabieu Bah.

Aminata Bah previously served as Vice President for National Affairs of the institution and, as the constitution dictates, takes over the presidency by virtue of ascendency during such cases.

Bah was sworn into office by FFUSOL’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Sheik Y. Jalloh, who performed the rites of the oath of office, congratulated her and urged her to continue on the path of progress.

In separate remarks, FBAL President Barrie and FUL Secretary Bah urged President Bah not to be deterred by negative statements that may emulate from detractors, but to serve the Fula students with passion.

Making remarks, the newly inducted President of FFUSOL, Aminata Bah, called for all hands on deck to move the institution to a nobler destiny. She disclosed that top on her agenda as president is the decentralization of the branches of the institution to other counties, girl empowerment, capacity building and reconciliation.

Bah expressed thanks and appreciation to the Board, executive and members of FFUSOL for the confidence reposed in her, and urged her fellow executive members to increase their zest in serving the Fula students of Liberia, and build on the gains made by past administrations.
